Question:
Does Welbutrin irritate anyone else's stomach???
I take Welbutrin. Well, I should. Unless all of the planets are aligned just right, it burns my stomach and sometimes causes me to heave. I am supposed to take 3 100 mg pills, spread out through the morning. I take it with food, with milk, when I am feeling good... still, burning -- sometimes the whole way up my esophagus. I know FOR SURE that this stuff is what I need. Also, it is not a matter of it being an uncrushed pill -- I have no problem taking pills. It is just this in particular. Any suggestions? Anyone had any luck with 100mg daily? — Karen F. (posted on August 5, 2002)

Hmmmm. How strange. I've never had a problem with Welbutrin. I was on
Welbutrin SR... and after a year of my depression getting worse, (SR being
time release) I'm now on Welbutrin (regular NOT SR) and now instead of 150
mg twice a day, it's 100 mg twice a day. I've not had any problems. But you
should ask your doctor. If you are like me, you really need those pills.
You can change doses or pills. There are other ways of doing things that
should'nt make you sick. Don't suffer.

Hello: About a month ago, I started taking Wellbutrin to help with the
whole stop smoking thing. I take two 100mg pills in the AM, and one in the
PM. Sometimes even without breakfast. I have not had any problems so far,
and I haven't felt like I needed to smoke in almost two weeks. I would talk
your Doc. and let him know that it's upsetting your stomach. The best of
luck to you. Melody DeRose

Are they the SR or regular tabs? Usually, if anythign CAN irritate a
stomach, it'll bother ME. (perpeteually, pre-op til birth). But the WB
tablets do not. I do take all pills with food, so maybe that makes a diff?

My husband had a lot of stomach pains when he was taking Welbutrin, he had
to stop taking them. I would talk to your Doctor if I were you.

I am two months post op and have been on wellbutrin for about 2 years
without any problem. Since the surgery, it has indeed bothered me. It has
given me heartburn and given me stomatch aches. My doctor says that it
will go away as I heal, but I must admit, that my patience is waining at
this point. I have found that taking malox does help. Let me know how you
fair.
