Question:
Where can I find information about renal failure post-op.

This week I was told by my PCP that I have lost 50% of my kidney function in the last year. I had surgery 11/15/2001 and have lost 123 pounds. I hope to lose at least 50 more. Six years ago one of my sisters died of obesity related causes that included kidney failure. I remember how she suffered with pain and I am afraid I will follow that same path. I have an appointment with a Nephrologist on August 7 but in the meantime, I hope to educate myself about this disease and hopefully calm my fears. Thank you    — Julia O. (posted on July 26, 2002)
