Question:
I weigh 320lbs., I have very large legs--how bad will they look after alot of weight
loss? I also have double knees--has anyone been thru the surgery with overly-large legs? If so how bad did they sag after your weight loss? — Michelle S. (posted on July 5, 2002)

I never thought about that! My legs have always been large. I'd like to
know what will happen too. :)

Depends how old you are. I am 23. I have lost a total of 125lbs in 8
months, which my doctor says is alot of weight in a short period, even at
my age, the skin on my inner thighs puckers, you can pull it and it kinda
stays there. The main thing is exercise. My doctor says once I get closer
to my goal weight the elesticity in my skin will kick in and bounce back
and hopefully look good. You willsag, so plan on it. One thing though, the
boobs are the worst. I went from having two 46DD cantaloupes on my chest
now they are two 40D hollowed oput watermelons, hanging there, HaHa. Don't
worry, just focus on exercising as much as you can. We all sag, but you
will firm up.

I was 319 for many years. My legs hung down in back and I'm sure you don't
need me to tell you how bad it looks. I had my RNY last year when I was
43. Anyway, I am amazed at how good my legs look. I am now 173 and 44
pounds from goal. My lower legs, which where really heavy, are much better.
(My left leg is still much bigger than the other). The only thing is my
"inner thighs" are hideous.... loose skin and celulite. But all
in all, my legs look so much better. Better than I thought they would.

I started out at 360 lbs and was (am) the typical pear shape. At 6 1/2
months I am down 113 lbs. The upper-most part of my thighs are starting to
wrinkle and droop. The knees and calves thinned down fine. Your age
should help determine how much elasticity you will have as you loose
weight. At 58, I guess I'll camoflauge.
