Absolutely not. Midol is an NSAID like Advil, and it will cause ulcers and
stomach discomfort. I recommend asking your doctor to prescribe a mild
narcotic like Darvocet. My doctor lets me have up to 20 tablets/month for
pain that Tylenol can't control (menstrual cramps, bad headaches, etc.)
That small amount per month is helping me avoid addiction problems.

I believe Midol is considered an analgesic not an Nsaid. It is asprin-free
caffeine-free,and has a diuretic in the ingredients.(Got this from the
Midol web site). I had a lap Rny on 3-18. My surgeon said I could take
Midol for cramps. It's not like you'd be taking them a long time. If you
need to take them with a small amount of food it won't hurt the affects of
the medication. Please ask your own surgeon how he feels about Midol.Hope
you feel better soon!

My Dr. said that ibupropen products were fine after surgery. I take it with
no problems!

Ask Your Doctor. Before taking advice from any of us about medications of
any kind, call your surgeon. Each doctor appears to have different ideas
on what is and isn't allowed. My surgeon allows me to take an occasional
celebrex (never more than 5 days at a time) for severe arthritis but he
said I could NEVER AGAIN take Ibuprofen. There is way too much danger of
bleeding and ulcers. As far as Midol is concerned, I don't know the
chemical make-up of it, but once again, I stress, call your doctor.
