Question:
Proteinex vs. Vita4Life: best liquid protein?
Hi, all this discussion on Proteinex has led me to another question that maybe someone can answer. Proteinex is the liquid protein made by Lloren Pharms. Vita4life has their own liquid protein. At first I thought they were the same product, but then I realized they were different. I figured out the cost of a 16oz bottle of Proteinex is $23.00 that's about $1.43 per oz. The Vita4life liquid protein is $69.95 for 72oz, about .97 cents per oz. Vita4Life comes in flavors (honey & mocha). As far as I can tell Proteinex does not offer a selection. ARE THEY THE SAME PROTEIN? DOES PROTEIN GO BAD/EXPIRE? IN HOW LONG? WHICH IS BETTER? It's obvious to me which is better priced, but which one does a better job and/or tastes better? Thanks for all input! — Laura B. (posted on February 27, 2002)

I can tell you that my nutrionalist told me that most pre-digested Liquid
proteins are fairly equal in there makeup.
I have tried the vita4life and could not get it down. The taste made me
gag. Both claim to be geared toward Gastric Bypass Patients on their
websites.Everyone is so individual in their tastes. I can easily tolerate
Proteinex. It is only one flavor...orange citrus. Both companies offer
samples, Proteinex is free and Vita4life is about 10 bucks for samples of
vitamens and protein. As for the price factor, I know Proteinex is shipped
free. I dont know about Vita4life.

I can only tolerate the vita4life protein. Honey flavor. One packet to 4
oz. water with about an ounce of flat diet orange soda. I went thru
hundreds of dollar of proteins and almost six months prior to the vita4life
protein., it is a personal choice. I also like it in fat free - light
yogurt in the blender with frozen berries and a dab of cool whip, a few ice
cubes and the protein!

Vita4Life is also shipped free per their web site. I think both of these
proteins are collagen based though and that is supposed to be inferior to
blended wheys, 100% whey, soy, etc. Is it okay to use only the collagen
proteins like Vita4Life? Anyone know?
