This is like asking what the best meatloaf is (don't we all have a family
recipe?) or what's the best chocolate (symphony? Godiva? Hersheys?) In
other words, you will get a lot of opinions and probably taste half of them
and go ugh.. what were those people thinking? Your best bet is to go to
gnc, and keep the sales receipt. They allow you to take back the open
bottle, box, jar, can of whatever you don't like and trade it or even get
your money back. The other idea is vitalady sells samples, so for not much
money you get a serving of several things to see what you like and what you
don't. Some people love isopure, think it tastes like koolaid, I thought it
was awful. I like metrx, many find it too thick, and so on. As for bars,
still haven't found one I don't think tastes like something that mind of
come from the tail end of a horse. Ick. Good luck!

HI, I agree with the previous answer, everyones taste is different. The one
I use is GNC Whey Protein unflavored. I've tried it in milk and its yuk.
Now I put it in orange juice, low acid. I do use more than the eight ounces
of juice. Its not great but it is tolerable. I drink it on my way to work.
GNC return policy is great and believe me I've tried them and most are
yukky to my taste. I have'nt found a bar I like yet. I take two childrens
chewables but I'm sure the liquids work. Best of luck to you.. T.W

I forgot to add, read the label of liquid vitamins. Centrum liquid doesn't
have the minerals regular centrum does. Be sure you are getting a whole
vitamin and mineral supplement when getting liquids.

I love the KETO SHAKE it comes in chocolate fudge, french vanilla,
strawberry shortcake, chocolate peanut butter swirl, banana cream
pie, cappaccino, orange creamsicle, egg nog, and peaches and cream. They are
about $18 for 11 servings. 194 calories, 10g of fat, 2g carbs, 24g protien
and no sugar. I put ice in them sometimes and use a blender and it feals
and tastes like a real shake. let me know if you have anymore quetions.

Ask your PCP or your surgeon for a prescription for prenatal chewable
vitamins; if the doctor uses the right code (bariatric surgery) your
insurance might help pay for them. I am going to take Natachew and they
will cost me a copay of $3.68 each month. You wonder how they pack such an
amount of vitamins and minerals in a tablet the size of a penny. Nina in

Wal-mart has a protein bar called Advant Edge. the cookie and cream cream
flavor is very good and the blueberry and the lemon cheesecake flavors are
not bad. They have 24 g of protein and only 2.5g of carbs and 2 g of sugar.
Also they have carb solutions high protein shake mix that is pretty good
tasting. Give them a try.

If you are a chocolate addict like I am, I use the Chocolate Pro-Score 100
(2 scoops {provided} mix w/8 oz water = 32 gm of protein). I also use
Extreme Pure PRO, Tropical Punch (1 scoop in 8 oz liquid* = 26 gm protein),
and also Optimum Whey Chocolate or Vanilla (1 scoop mix w/ 6-8 oz liquid* =
22 gm protein). When I mention liquid*, that means I use either water mix
with a sugar free syrup, crystal light, diet dead (no carbonation) pop
(orange or rootbeer), or even Clearly American fruit flavored sparkling
water(sugar free, caffeine free), dead (no carbonation). Sometimes I even
mix the chocolate and vanilla together to make a less chocolately drink. I
then mix these with about 2-4 ice cubes and mix with a handmixer (not
blender -- too much air) and drink away. (I am 6 months post op 78 lb
weight loss.) I get all my protein and vitamins from www.vitalady.com. I
hope this helps. Good luck and congrats!!!

ProBlend 55, Swiss Mocha from GNC. 270 Calories / 1.5 gr. fat / 4 gr.
sugar / 55 GRAMS PROTEIN per 8 oz water mixed with 2 scoops powder. Even
if it DIDN'T taste great, I'd drink it.. because where else am I going to
get THIS MUCH protein with only 8 oz of volume!! I split it, making 1/2
shake in mid-morning, and another 1/2 shake late afternoon. Keeps me
feeling great! (10 weeks post-op RNY - down 40 lbs from 228)

I think it takes some experimenting with different products to find one you
like and can tolerate. Everyones taste is so different. I ordered tons of
samples from the vitalady pre op and tried alot. For myself, I cant stand
the milk based powder shake kind of drinks. Maybe it was because I was on
OPTIFAST years ago and remember standing over the sink with my nose plugged
and downing those aweful tasting drinks. We can not gulp like that now! So
I have opted for either GNC Challenge Liquid Protein Wild Cherry (which has
been discontinued and is hard to find) Or Proteinex which you take like
cough syrup a few tablespoons spread out through the day. That works for me
because there is no volume to get down and though the taste is not great,
it is tolerable and does not have a horrible aftertaste. So one swallow and
it is done. Good luck to you!

Hi,
I am pre-op and have been trying protein powders to find one that I
will like after surgery. I have tried all of the ones listed above except
for the Keto Shakes (they are next to try on my list). So far, I like
Spiru-tein. They come in flavors like cookies and cream, peanut butter
swirl, banana, strawberry shortcake, peaches and cream, vanilla, berry
burst, cherries jubilee and cappucinno. They can be mixed with water, milk
(lactaid), soy milk and rice dream. They have between 25 & 30 grams of
protein per serving. They are thin in consistency and taste amazing. I
would recommend those to everyone. They have a variety pack of 8 flavors
that you can try for $9.99 just go to the
