Question:
I'm at goal and need helpful diet information to maintain and stop losing.
I am now at what is considered an "Ideal" BMI. I am 11 months post-op and have lost 155 pounds. I now weigh 143 and if I lose a few more pounds that is ok, but, I need to start a maintenence diet program. Does anyone have some ideas or suggestions? Thanks for your help. — Janie C. It's easy to stop your weight loss. Just start drinking a few more
calories. Don't go overboard, but instead of drinking water all the time,
drink 32 oz. of Gatorade a day. Or you could add a bit more fruit or
complex carbs to your diet. Don't add junk food, but add more calories.
This will stop your weight loss and allow you to maintain your weight. I
think just adding 200 calories a day or so should do it.

I agree with the previous poster about adding a few more calories. I am
down to 140 pounds at 5'5" tall and I need to maintain. In fact, I
saw my nutritionist today and she actually wants me to gain back 3-5
pounds, but said if I didn't it was no big deal. Doc said the same thing.
They just don't want me losing anymore. In my defense, I just had surgery
to repair a small bowel obstruction in mid december and lost my appetite
for about 6 weeks. Am just now getting it back. (read my profile) I lost
16 pounds in 2 weeks from being so sick. I am 14 omonths post op. Anyway,
she told me to add some more calories and maybe eat a little more starches.
This should also help with my lab work as I was so comprimised from being
ill. I am gonna try and see what happens. I don't want to lose anymore
weight either. Good luck,
