Question:
I still have open holes that I have to pack twice a day, will they ever heal?

I am four months post-op and still have a hole in my incision and the hole where my g-tube came out that I have to pack with guaze twice a day. I have had 5 pockets of fluid (abcesses) and they just won't heal. Most often, I still have a discharge that comes out of both sites, especially if I am unable to pack the guaze in deep enough. How long will this take to heal? If the skin heals over before the inside heals, then I just get another abcess. Then I have a bigger opening underneath than I had before and I have to start all over again. I can still get in about two inches of guaze into the hole. If I keep guaze packed in it, how do the edges heal together? I'm about at my wits end. Help please!! :-)    — Sarah L. (posted on December 6, 2001)

Read Victoria Bowen's profile page and web site. She had a real bad problem with an open incision after her first tummy tuck. You might gain some information from her sites. Good luck!
