Question:
Would the herb ginger root help with nausea
I'm 2 1/2 months post Rny and have nausea, I dont know much about herbs but heard ginger root might help with nausea.Can anyone give me advice on this, please. — Julia M. (posted on November 9, 2001)

I tend toward nausea, have since childhood. But since WLS< there is
usually a mechanical reason. Not always, but if you are experiencing it on
a regular basis, you might want to be scoped & get an eyeball in there
to be sure there is no marginal ulcer or any surprises going on. I have
taken ginger root, but did not see any change with it. Probably because the
problem is more mechanical.

I drink hot ginger tea to help with nausea. It helped before surgery,
immediately post-op, and now. I just buy the tea bags at the market,
although I know several people who grate their own ginger to make it.
