I started at 407 lbs. and had my surgery on 3-5-01. So I just had my 8
month anniversary, and I am down 144 lbs. to 263. I am continuing to lose
about 10 lbs. a month, and my surgeon said I could expect to have this rate
of loss continue through about 12 months post-op, so I should see about 220
lbs. before my weight loss slows way down. Of course, my goal weight is
lower than that. I am tall, but I still want to get somewhere between
173-190. Unfortunately, the last 30-40 lbs. are going to be very hard
according to my doctor. He said things will probably drop way down to
between 3-5 lbs. a month during the loss of that last bit of weight, but I
will probably continue to lose weight through the 18-month mark, at which
time I will stabilize and begin the maintenance game. Good luck to you,
and feel free to email me directly if you have any other questions or wish
to chat. Thanks.

I started at 330 pounds, and within 12 months I had lost 150 pounds.
However, then my weight came to a standstill. As you are aware already, we
are all different, and our bodies lose differently. You have done a great
job, you should feel very good about your accomplishment so far!!!
