Question:
I was perscribed a diaretic for blood presure, Can you take a diaretic after surgery?
Since you're only taking in 64 ozs. and as I read some people have trouble doing that, has anyone continued to take a diaretic prescibed prior to surgery, or did they change you medication? — Mark L. (posted on October 10, 2001)

Mark, my diuretic got switched after surgery to a stronger one as I seemed
to have more of a problem with water retention, but I've been on one now
pre and post op without ceasing. After the first few weeks, I was able to
drink much more water again, which helped as well. Blessings to you!

I on the other hand was removed from my diaretic. I was on Hyzaar (which is
cozaar with lasix) for HP. I was told to stop it the day before and forever
and was switched to regular cozaar. I was told never to take a diaretic
again without my doctors advice.
