Question:
Two surgeons for Lap. RNY?
Had initial consultation with surgeon and started the ball rolling for approval. Now I'm being told there will be two surgeons, one who I have not met and has a malpractice judgement. Considering starting over with new doc. Any advice? — Terri H. (posted on August 30, 2001)

You started the ball rolling by meeting w/ a surgeon or who? Which is the
Dr you met? Is the one you met one w/ the malpractice judgement? I
personallly woudln't want to go w/ a surgeon that has a malpractice
judgement but hey its up to you.. check it out.

Hi,
Find a NEW DOCTOR...THIS IS YOUR LIFE WE ARE TALKING ABOUT AND YOUR
DECISION. You need to be assertive about the very best care you can find.
Best of luck and let us know how it goes! Many Regards,

I personally would check into what exactly the malpractice was
about...there really are some pretty stupid judgements made out there! I
would also talk to the surgeon that I conferred with, and if I felt he was
honest about the other surgeon and really cared about my health, I would
probably stay with him. If I felt the least bit uncomfortable, after
reviewing the judgement and talking with my initial surgeon, then I would
be out of there.
