Question:
Extreme Pure Protein drink ... too acidic?
Looking for ways to get my dreaded protein in ... tried the grape flavored Extreme Pure Protein and felt a little strange. (18 days post-op, open RNY) Could it be too acidic for the early stages? — Linda P. (posted on August 19, 2001)

How'd you make it up? How'd you drink it? I mean, how much per 5 minutes,
for example.

This is the same one I use too. However I did'nt find this kind until 6
weeks post op. Of course as you probally know you should'nt get more than
30 grams at a time. So you would use 8 oz of water and one scoop. However I
can't get that down anymore without wanting to throw up. So I use the 8 oz
with 1/2 scoop. That is only 1/4 of a serving for 13 grams of protein. I
can get that down fine, and I "try" to do it 2-4 times a day and
count it towards my water.
Maybe this would help you.

I found the Extreme Pure Pro to be just too sweet immediately post-op, and
like you, it just left me feeling a little icky. By three months it was
fine. You might also want to try the Isopure fruit flavors. Even now,
they have less of an acidic taste (feel?) to them for me. The first few
months post-op I drank a LOT of Designer Protein powder, strawberry or
vanilla, mixed with water. Anything else was too sweet and too thick.
