Question:
Why can't all the bariatric surgeons get together and agree on the definitions of

distal, medial and proximal??? It is so confusing because everyone has their own definiion! My doctor considers me disal (roux limb 150cm, biliopancreatic limb 75cm, common channel 300 cm). Many others also consider this distal while other people would consider me proximal. Why isn't there a standard definition for these terms?    — lalasmommy (posted on August 6, 2001)
