Question:
I am a 33 year old women post RNY surgery, I do not have much of a libido.

To be frank I do not a sex drive at all. Is this a problem for anyone else? What can I do?    — rosalyn W. (posted on June 2, 2001)

Hi, I am only eight days post op but am curious as to if you are taking any meds that may cause that, I have been taking antidepressants on and off for about 9 years, I am 35 yrs old and I know they have that effect on me, or did have. I have the libido, actually at my sexual peak, just impossible to finish what is started if you know what I mean... A lot of meds cause this problem, you should be in your prime right now, maybe this is a side effect of the open rny, I will watch and see the rest of your replies also... Hang in there, maybe there will be some answers :) Renee

I am the same age, 33, and I have absolutely no desire to have intimate relations with my husband either. I do not agree that it is medications because I am not on any. I had the Lap RNY almost 6 weeks ago. I have been told that it does get better. I just feel so bad for my loving hubby. Most of the time, I am just so tired after a full day of cleaning and chasing two very active little boys and preparing for a move in a month and a half. oh well, I am 38 lbs lighter and about 21 inches total lost. I am sure I will find it later. LOL. Hope that I helped a little.

I know exactly where your coming from. I am 34 and 3 months post and have the same problem. I thought it was a hormone shift or something but my doctor can't find any physical reason. I just feel sorry for my husband and get upset with myself hopefully it will get better.
