Question:
Minimize the appearance of scarring?

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced product that can minimize the appearance of scarring? It would also be great if this product were gentle enough for me to start applying right after surgery?    — Janine H. (posted on May 13, 2001)

I had breast reduction surgery in Jan., and after the stitches were removed (no open incisions) I started to apply vitamin E oil and cocoa butter alternately- Vitamin E oil in the morning, and the cocoa butter before bed. But really the trick is in the application. The best possible thing that you can do is massage the incision with your middle finger, applying a little pressure, in a circular motion using any creame that you like, using a light pressure. This breaks up the adhesions, and makes the scar lye flat. It worked with my breast incisions! I was consistant, being sure to spend at least 5 minutes twice a day doing this....persistance pays off!Good luck, you will be amazed!
