Question:
Has anybody ever been refused by their surgeon because of low BMI?

My PCP (PacifiCare HMO) has referred me to Dr Rabkin and assured me she would go to bat for me. BMI is only 39 and none of my comorbidities (leg, ankle and knee pain, feet swelling and pain, short of breath, minor hear murmur)as been documentated. Yes, my BMI is 34 and it has to be 35 so...I'll put on heavier clothes and rolls of coins in my pocket to get to 35.
