Question:
What action to take after 2nd staple line failure. same surgeon.?

I had vbg, and my stapleline ruptured. i had it revised and have now learned this staple line is out. heart burt back and very bad. my doctor wont return my calls and my weight is going up.dr. said he ther wasnt good contact with stapler. doesnt that make it as much his fault as mine.??    — kathy P. kathy--I would suggest getting a second opinion from another reputable surgeon. 2 staple line disruptions does not seem normal to me. If you get revised again, ask to be transected (if you aren't already) and ask them to oversew the edges. A consultantation from another surgeon will not hurt. Good luck.

I've met several on this site who've failed twice at VBG who then had it changed to an RNY. Fault? I don't know, sorry.
