If so, How did the pregnancy go.Was the baby at a normal weight and were there any complications? — [Anonymous] (posted on April 25, 2001)

Haven't heard it.. imagine it could happen.. how scary.... it seems so many
of the nutrients start showing dropping rates by then. Most often the Drs
state severely use birth control during the first year. Talk w/ the
surgeon, your physician and surely a nutritionist to make sure you get all
you can get in to ensure a healhty baby etc...

I am pregnant right now, but I waited a year till my weight loss had
stopped before I got pregnant. That is the recommended safe way to do it.
Of course, accidents do happen, and I have heard of women getting pregnant
as soon as a couple weeks after their WLS. If you are pregnant now, you
will probably have to see a high-risk OB, and have frequent blood tests and
ultrasounds to make sure all is ok. I recommend signing up at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OSSG-pregnant to meet a great group of women
who are having babies after WLS.
