I am wondering if they gave you the right diet sheet ?
Which surgery did you have ? I had an Open RNY on April 6th. My diet
sheet
is for almost all protein three times a day and 48-64 oz liquids ( sugar
free )& water
a day . I am not to drink 30 minutes before or after eating. I am still on
liquid and pureed diet .
I think I'd call my Dr. to get it correct what you should be having. I was
told no sweets or
fat @ this point. some of my Hi Pro shkes like the Boost with Hi Protein
have a sweet taste but the Dr. said that was ok if I could tolerate it .
Good luck to you.

from what i have seen and read here many dr's have different diets
immeadiately post op. mine says that protein and vitamins are not a huge
concern so early post op. i am now 8 weeks post-op today. at 8 days i was
still on liquids and he added creamy soups, yogurt, pudding, cottage
cheese, mashed potatoes and the like. I told him i had a bite of chicken and
tried some other things i "shouldnt have" and he told me to give
my new stomach a break....give it a chance to heal. I didnt think i was
eating enough either. i go for my 2 month check up in 2 days. i dont know
what he will add but i have been eating crackers with cheese or tuna to get
some protein and taking my vits he recommended from vita4life.net...they
are quick absorb especially for bypass patients. as of today i have lost 52
lbs.
