Hi Richard, while I don't live in Wisconsin, I did do some investigating
for you. I found a few docs listed in Milwaukee and a couple others just in
Wisconsin. Here is the page
www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/showdocs.phtml?State=WI
If this doesn't work go to the top of any page and click on "find a
Doc" and then choose "Browse the list" Next click on your
state on the map and there will be several docs listed. If you click on
"view" you will see a list of what insurances have paid this
particular doc for surgery. Keep scrolling down and you will see comments
from patients. Each of these patients has an e-mail listing and maybe you
could consult them for their opinions. I hope this helps!

I had surgery 6/00 at Froedtert in Milw. There is an excellent group
there, Drs. Schulte, Nakeeb and Wallace. Drs. Nakeeb and Wallace are doing
the procedure lap while Schulte only does open. I had my surgery done
prior to this group doing opens but I have talked to some who have had the
open. There is also a support group that meets the last Monday of the
month.

I have researched about this area a ton. I agree with previous posts, about
the Froedert hospital team. I have recently spoken to people at Froedert
and the BTC in Belvidere IL, which is in reasonable distance from you. I
have chosen to go to Froedert as the responses about the doctors seem to be
awesome by many others. Also Froedert does the rny laproscopicly with a
very high success rate! They also have a very great program set up so you
have an allday appointment with several things-such as: nutrition class,
pysch eval., consult with surgeon, among other things. This enables a
person to only take off one day of work, rather than several for
appointments. Sounds really organized to me! So far I've been really
impressed. Email if there's any questions I can answer.

I too had Dr. Nakeeb at Froedtert--just last 2/2 - He was GREAT!!
Everything happened like he said it would. I would highly recommend them.
What I also like is they are really working on their aftercare program.
Like the below poster said, they do have a support meeting once a month,
which I find very important. Good luck to you!!

Hi Richard,
I am a graduate of BTC in Belvidere and I had a great experience.
However, you need to take into consideration what your
insurance covers (and who!), how far from home the place
is, if the surgeon offers lap or only open, etc. Only you
know the answers to those questions:) If I can
answer any questions about BTC for you, I
will be happy to, just e-mail me!
Good Luck whereever you choose to go!

Hi Richard,
I have my first consultation appointment with Dr. Thomas Y. Chua on April
30, I cant wait! He is in Milwaukee. I have found some people here on the
net who have had him as their doctor and swear by him. I have also seen
him on WISN 12 news speaking about doing the FDA study on the Lap Band. He
specializes in Lap RNY and Lap gastric banding. He does other types such
as open RNY as well. Good luck in your quest for a newer you!
