Question:
Anyone have any info on Dr. Macura, Staten Island, NY?

Two friends had surgery with Macura. First one had it about 2 years ago (open rny). She lost about 100 pounds and gained it back (I dont think it has any reflection on Macura mind you). No major complications. Another friend had surgery on October 4, 2001. she had some major complications and we almost lost her. Lawyers told her that it was through no fault of Macura. As far as I know, he only does open surgeries and works out of SIUH and Mainmdidies (SP?). I personally decided to go to Manhattan, Dr Herron and have my surgery lap. Good Luck.

I have not met with Dr. Macura. But also would like some information on Dr. Macura. If anyone had this surgery done by Dr. Macura please tell me something about him.

Talk to a friend who had her surgery done by Dr. Macura. She told me he is a good Dr. and staff is also good. All she has to do is call with a problem and he has her come in. She told me to go for the surgery and not to be scare that all will be ok. Also spoke with my PCP and he told me that 14 people he treats had surgery done and all lost 100lbs or more. All are doing well. PCP thinks Dr. Macura is good Dr.
