Question:
I just had my consultation and the doctor said that I am a good canidate
for this surgery, but that I do not have alot of problems. I do have asthma and knee and back pains. My BMI is 54. I believe that would qualify me as medically necessary. Can anyone tell me if this is enough for the insurance co. to approve me? — Patricia H. (posted on March 6, 2001)

It depends on your insurance company. I certainly think that with a BMI
that high, you should qualify on that alone. You would with my company.
Best wishes.
