Question:
Has anyone been approved that has United Healthcare Select HMO?

I have United Healthcare Select HMO. They say there is no exclusion in the policy, and they only pay if it is medically necassary. I weigh 404 pounds and that makes my BMI at 67.2. I have a few co- morbs, sleep apnea, urinary incintinece due to weight, pain in back, knees and feet, elevated cholesterol, iregular periods. I dont have real major health issues. I was just wandering if there was anyone with United healthcare Select that had been approved or denied, and why? Do you think I will be approved? I am doing the waiting game with my insurance, hopefully to get approved. How long does it usually take? Thanks!    — Valerie D. (posted on January 13, 2001)

Hi Valerie, I was reading your profile and I am also from Missouri, I have United HealthCare Select HMO. They approved my surgery in April of 2000. They didn't have an exclusions as long as it was medically neccessary. I say you have 80% chance of being approved.
