Question:
Panni Vs Tummy Tuck : has anyone made the choice between the panniculectomy and abdominoplasty??

I'm wondering if anyone has had the panniculectomy rather than the abdominoplasty? I understand from my research that the tummy tuck or abdominoplasty is where they not only remove excess skin and fat but also tighten the stomach muscles, whereas the panni is simply the removal of excess skin and fat. My VBG surgeon is thinking the panni for me ... and is also considering doing it himself rather than sending me to a plastic surgeon. I trust my surgeon emmensely, so feel rather comfortable with his recommendations ... still ... I am curious as to other people's situations. So ... if you've had one procedure over the other ... I'd love to hear about your decision and your experiences. Why did you chose your particular operation? how long were you in the hospital? how long off work? how long did it take to look "normal"? what was the pain like? meds? etc. anything and everything you would care to share, I'd be grateful for! :-) Also, I have a bit of a strange body ;-) and really don't have a huge hanging apron (pannis) as much as I have a huge hanging bag of fatty tissue in my pubic area.
