Question:
Has anyone had surgery at UC Davis Med. Center in Sac. CA
I am having open RNY on 12/22/00 at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. I really want to know what to expect from my hospital stay. Are the nurses helpful, how are the rooms, anything that you can tell me would be greatly appreciated. I've never had to stay in the hospital before. HELP!!! — DeAnn H. (posted on October 31, 2000)

I had my open RNY at UCDMC on March 14, 2000. I have lost 130lbs. I had
Dr. Wolfe. Who is doing yours? I would love to share my experience of
UCDMC with you but I would rather do it in private. Email me in private.
Best wishes.

Me too, I had it there (after Pat) I had Dr. Nguyen. You can read some of
my story over at my profile. Just make sure you bring someone with you, to
wait on you hand & foot. Nurses can't always give you what you need,
and you being under ansethetic, will not know what to ask for... bringing
someone coherant- may help you - whereas I thought I could do this alone!
Ha! The best part of my stay was when my family was with me, making me
feel cared for. Feel free to e-mail me if you want.

Hi, I had lap. gastric bypass thier in april of 2000. My surgeon was Dr.
Nyguyen, talented but no bed side manner, I only had one rude nurse, other
than that I was pleased with my care, and I`ve got lots of hospital
experience to draw from (unfortuneatly) I did get sick with a bacteria a
month post op , a bad reaction from surgery antibiotics, but once we found
out what it was , they worked with my pcp and fixed me right up ( I live 4
hours away and havent been back since surgery ) surgery was a success. I
had my own room , only by chance, the first room they put me in had a
women with 5 kids ( very noisy ) visiting so I made them move me. and they
did with no problom. good luck. E-mail me if you`d like at
