Question:
Need info on blue cross approvals in southern california!!!

i have already been approved by kaiser, but my grandma has blue cross. She finally found a doctor who wants to help her get well and he suggested wls!! but he has no idea how to start a referal. So he suggested Dr. Callery to her in poway. What should we do now??? Can we have his office help with the approval??? Can she see him, then have his office request the authorization?? how does blue cross work?? She has a bmi of 58 and all sorts of co-morbs, but her heart and lungs are healthy, the only thing is she is 67, is there anyone around her age approved???
