Question:
I'm 4 weeks post op and have really bad nausea daily

Went to see my Doctor today and he put me on liquids until the nausea passes. I'm even throwing up water. He feels something might be caught in the pouch. He won't give me anything over the counter or prescribed for the nausea and I'm at my wits end. Any ideas to combat this?    — Shelli M. (posted on July 13, 2000)

I had a short episode like this. I would throw up water or clear, foamy stuff. The R.N. immediately knew that it was sinus drainage into my pouch. Doesn't take much to fill a one ounc pouch. They prescribed Claritin. It works! Didn't realize I had a problem w/ sinuses but I did. Hope you are feeling better soon!

I had a problem with severe nausea for about 5 weeks after surgery. I was thinking I had made a big mistake and would never be the same again. It went away. I don't know why or how but it went away. I am seven months post op, I have lost 75 lbs and I feel great. Sincerely, Nancy
