Question:
Just a couple of Questions
If someone could help me I have a couple of questions, 1. I had lap RYN and still have my gall bladder, how do you know if you have Gall Stones? I am taking my meds. every day Actigall, to prevent, but I was just curious. 2. how would you know if you ruptured your incision line? 3. How much protien should we get in? I am lossing weight at a good pace, 2-3 pounds a week, I don't weigh every week so I am not sure if I lost that week or not, but I am very happy with the weight loss so far. Thanks for the anser! My gallbladder had been gone for DECADES before surgery, so I can't address
that one. Do you mean if your staple line is disrupted? Not the incision
on your belly, right? OK, if your staple line is disrupted, you may notice
"weight creep". Wt coming back on or reversing the loss. For me,
I noticed ACID. Lots of acid. The acid from the lower stomach was free agin
to roam both sections and was burning a new ulcer in the pouch. It hurt and
I was nauseated, along with that acidic feeling I hadn't had since pre-op.
I was revised recently and feel better than I ever did before! You should
be getting a MINIMUM of 60g of liquid protein supplement a day, Not milk
and Instant Breakfast, but a genuine protein supplement mixed with water or
sugar free juice for good wt loss. If you stall out, you could safely go to
90g a day for weeks or so, along with adding more water. Food protein
doesn't count fully, so be sure you are getting your basic 60g in liquid
protein form. Bars are nice, but they are NOT pre-digested protein.
