Question:
When they say "your pouch will hold 1 oz. how do I measure it?

Like meat would have to be measured on a scale. But what about pureed food? do I weigh it or use a measuring cup like liquids?    — [Anonymous] (posted on April 27, 2000)

Not weight! You could end up with far too much that way! An oz of nuts is NOTHING, for example. But chewed? You can eat several. The best way to get some ideas of volume is to put 1/3 of a chicken breast in the blender with a tsp of water. Blend, measure into a 1 oz container. That sort of shows you how much CHEWED food it is. You can a decent portion of salad and yet have it be only 1 oz chewed. This isn't to "cheat" but to keep you from overfilling accidentally. You can also practice the "feeling" with liquids.
