Question:
In response to posting that religion be left off site.
I was sickened to read this morning that people are suggesting that religious beliefs be left off this site. What gave you the right to dictate who says what on here? Religious people have just as much right to express their faith as non-religious people have in expressing their beliefs. This shouldnt even be a subject on here. If you are the kind of person who is easily offended by christian, jewist, atheist, satanist, etc. views than maybe its time for you to start your own site exclusively for people of your beliefs. I think people should be welcomed to express themselves on here, regardless of their relgion. To deny people the comforts of using words like "pray" or "God" would be like catering to atheists at the expense of religious people. — [Anonymous] (posted on December 26, 1999)

I, for one asked for prayers and received many and was heart felt thankful
for the ones that prayed for me..
I read about half the posts on this subject, ignoring the ones that
offended me. This is all of our right of choice.. religion or not...(the
American way) If we don't like the way a certain post is reading or
leading "move on, ignore it, delete it" it's that simple.... It
won't bother me in the least if anyone ignores this post it's your
choice.. Just like it's my choice to post my views..

I think that it is fair to say that no one has a problem with offering up
prayers of support! It's when the postings go into references to a
specific diety or offering more "Christian" offings than just a
"prayer" that some people become offended. As I mentioned in an
email to someone ... I am a christian myself, but I do not impose my
beliefs on others ... I am not offended by prayers ... I am offended by
christian intolerance of
other's rights, and beliefs or lack of beliefs.

I do not understand all of this talk about Christian intolerance. The
Christians have not said that anyone can or cannot worship whatever they
will. We have made no comment about anyone not being able to say whatever
they want to, it has only been others who seem to think that they can
impose their beleifs on us Christians. That is Christian intolerance.

I am a Christian and proud of it. I feel sorry for the person or persons
that feel religion has no place on this site. If religion doesn't belong
here than how are you going to recieve comfort or give comfort. I'm pre-op
and I feel so much love from the members on this site. It makes all the
waiting bearable. Thank you WLS for allowing religion on this site.
