Somebody asked about possible long term complications from WLS. I looked high and low for that kind of information before my surgery, and the best source I found was at www.gastricbypass.com On the left side, click on "For Doctors Only" Down near the end of the article, there is a section on Adverse Effects, both early post-op and late. Even if I never have any of these problems, I think it is good to know about them so I can watch out for the symptoms in the future. — Lynn K. (posted on November 10, 1999)

I am 3 1/2 years post-op. I have experienced gallstones that caused
life-threatening pancreatitis, but was resolved when my gallbladder was
removed. I now have an ulcer that is believed to be related to my surgery.
I am in the early stages of having that fully diagnosed and treated, but I
have found quite a bit on the internet that shows ulcer as a pretty common
long term effect.
