Question:
I am one week post-op and still have a problem with gas after eating/drinking.

Following both eating and drinking I regularly have gas come up from my stomach and exit out quietly. I realize that my stomach is significantly smaller and when I eat/drink there is little room for swallowed air but is this going to be a lifetime thing or is it temporary?    — [Anonymous] (posted on October 26, 1999)

I had the same thing during my first couple weeks post-op. It seemed like I'd sip-burp-sip-burp all day. Sometimes the burps wouldn't come up, and it would be very uncomfortable. I don't know exactly why this happened, but now that I am five weeks post-op, I rarely have a problem with it. So, there is hope! Lynn

I have the same problem but I am using it as a guage to see that I do not overeat.
