Stomach tubes

My doc removes stomach tubes 3 days post op. Why are there docs that leave these in for weeks at a time?    — Connie H. (posted on October 26, 1999)

Hi. My doctor left the stomach tube in for 6 weeks after the operation. Apparently his reasoning was that if you had trouble with food at all that you could still be fed through the old stomach so he felt 6 weeks was best for that. I would have like it out a lot earlier!
