Question:
Can they do it the same time as the hysterectomy?

Insurance denied me but they approved a hysterectomy. Can the gyno do both at the same time or say it is to treat something else and do it at the same time to get it covered?    — Lisa H. (posted on August 13, 1999)

I don't think a gynocologist can do this type of surgery. And I'm almost positive that if they do this surgery and claim to be doing something dfferent would constitute fraud.

My bariatric surgeon said, no, she could not do them together. They are 2 major abdominal surgeries and require 2 separate incisions. It would be too traumatic to attempt them together. The exception might be if they were both laprocopic procedures, but I don't know if they can do your hysterectomy laproscopically.
