Question:
My surgeon wants me to bring 2 letter of recs to first appointment.

Find one who will! If you have two doctors who've followed your traditional methods of weight loss, and they will not recommend that you are seriously overweight and need assistance of other methods, find one who will sit down seriously with you and discuss your past history at losing weight and that you've done research on WLS and feel it's the only hope for you. (go with research in hand! and a diary of sorts of what you've tried and didn't work) Good luck!
