Question:
I need clothes very badly, I found the clothing exchange, but don't know how to
ask for the clothes. Do I just e-mail the person listing the clothes? Do I need to give them any special information. I am having surgery next month, and I need clothes size 24-26 and 3x or 4x. I just don't have the money to go out and buy clothes when I probably will be dropping sizes pretty fast after surgery. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Hi there Tammy -
I unfortunately have begun selling all of my stuff on Ebay or I would have
given you some. Might I suggest you check out Ebay - you can find some
INCREDIBLY CHEAP deals on there....
Hope this helps!
Take good care,
Gina

I belive you contact the person howeve...whatever you do....make sure that
you exchange money or whatever carefully. I sent all my clothes out and it
cost 80 bucks just for shipping (TON of clothes)...I did everything COD as
agreed but you have to pay in advance...the personsl check bounced...this
really hurt both emotionally and in the pocketbook...try going to
goodwill/salvation army...seriously as well

Hi, I have a FREE solution for new clothes. Go to the website
www.freecycle.org it is a free cite hosted by yahoo. How it works is you
find your city and sign up with yahoo as a member. It is a website that
allows you to give and receive anything for free (no money exchange is
allowed). After you sign up you can look at the list of what they call
OFFERS and reply to the ones you need. YOu can also place a WANTED ad for
the clothes you need. I have been using the cite for about a year and have
given away clothes, appliances, construction supplies you name it, I gave
away everything I did not need. I also got things from offers such as my
wall unit and lots of clothes. Try the cite you'll love it. Good luck,
Shana

I also was going to suggest freecyle.org I also use them to get and get
rid of clothes, furniture, appliances, and housewares. The BEST PLACE
EVER. Shana beat me to this, but I agree with her...the best solution for
NO COST! also I would try thrifht stores in your area...my local goodwill
has some really nice clothes...I got a name brand skirt for $5. I also
have stasrted selling on eBay, but most of my sizes are below what you are
looking for. I ish you luck in your search for clothes and on your WLS
journey. Laura

Hi Tammy,
Unfortunately I, too, share your size in clothing. Yard sales are the
bomb. Just check your local paper for yard sales in and around your area.
Lots of times they specify if they have plus size clothes. Once you find a
good ys, get familiar with that person. I now stay in communication with
someone who have yard sales often and carries size 22 thur 26's. Another
good choice is Good Will and Thrift stores.
