Question:
Any ideas how someone can lose 10-15 lbs. in two weeks?

I have been told that I have to lose close to 15 pounds by my final appointment before surgery. he appointment is on the 18th of July, and surgery is on the 5th of August.    — Riain B. (posted on July 11, 2005)

Try doing a lower carb diet. Lots of lean meats (to not be so bad on your cholesterol) and lots and lots of veggies. Drink TONS of water if you plan on doing this as any diet can dehydrate you at first. Take care!

No white foods, rice, flour products, potatoes, bananas. cut carbs down to 30 a day and it will drop off. I did this for 4 yrs before surgery & lost 250lbs.

STOP ALL WHITE FOODS ( BREAD, RICE, FLOUR) GO FOR 100% WHEAT BREAD, TRY MILK FROM HOOD ONLY 1% OF FAT TAEST LIKE WHOLE MILK (SIMPLY SMART), LOW FAT CHEESE, STRI-FRY MEAT AND VEG. STAY AWAY FROM GRAVY, SAUCE... NEED TO EAT 5 TIMES A DAY BUT IN SMALL PORTIONS (CUT HALF OF WHAT YOU EAT) FOR SNACKS FRUIT..! STAY AWAY FROM JUICE, SODA...EXCERCISE LIKE WALKING OR IF YOU HAVE A S/BIKE USE IT FOR 15MIN TWICE A DAY... I LOST 8 POUNDS IN ONE WEEK THAN EVERY WEEK I LOOSE 1TO 2 POUNDS A WEEK. I HAD TO LOOSE 10% OF MY WEIGHT I DID IT IN 3 MONTH.

Lean meat and green leafy vegetables is what my surgeon put me on. I could only drink decaf tea, decaf coffee, and tons of water. I lost 21 pounds in a month. My liver also shrunk significantly, which made the lap RNY much easier to do. Good Luck! Dana

I was on liquid diet pre-op. Use Pure Protein shakes. They have 35 grams of protein and take pretty good. I lost 10lbs. in one week. Good luck!
