Question:
Has anyone with the Fobi Pouch thrown up bile?
Hi, I'm about a year post op. Until today, I've never ever thrown up bile. I'm pretty freaked out and I dont know whats going on. Has anyone with the Fobi Pouch ever thrown up bile? Also, its a brownish color. — princessbob2727 (posted on February 23, 2005)

hon, do you still have your gallbladder? The gallbladder is what produces
bile and sometimes even after the gallbladder is gone, the bile duct will
still have bile in it that will make you throw bile up. bile is usually
green in color but can be brown and tastes very, very bitter.

I really hate to disagree with Delores (she's one of my faves here!), but
bile is produced by the liver and stored in the gallbladder. Once the
gallbladder is removed, your body still produces it, but has nowhere to
store it. So if you don't have one that may explain why you would vomit up
the bile. I've had mine removed and have not had any problems like yours.
<p>
Throwing up is a sign something is not right. You need to call your doc and
have him/her check you out.

Ali, you are right. i stand corrected. i guess I was going by the fact
that people with bad gallbladder attacks often vomit green bile.

Phew...I don't have my gallbladder but I did find out what was wrong. I
had a piece of food stuck in there. Yep, I had a piece of an orange in
there. hehe. I'm fine now, after the endoscopy :D
