How are you doing with your protein??? getting in at least 60? I know that
I got a 'round' of hair loss when I became lack with the protein, started
back up and it quit.

I get around 90 to 120g of protein daily, so that isn't my problem! I also
take my vitamins, my labs are great!

I am 15 months post op and going through the hair loss again. My surgeon's
recommendation is to double my multi vitamin, increase my iron tablets and
take kelp. I have been doing that now for three weeks and the hair loss is
starting to turn back around.

My friend is about 2 years post op and she starts losing hair any time she
is not being careful about her protein intake.

Hello,
My heart is with you (and so is my hair). I used to have hair that was so
thick that I had to use 2-3 jumbo sets of electric rollers to roll it, as
well as having to use 3 poneytail holders to keep it from falling down from
a ponytail. I am alittle over 9 months post op and have very quickly
dropped 115 pounds in that itme. I get my water, as well as protein, but my
lovely hair tht was thick enough to braid like a rope is now so thin that a
single ponytail holder has to be doubled 3 to 4 times to keep it from
falling out of my (almost non existant) hair.
If you all have remedies please help, My Surgeon thinks shakes are no
longer necessary and that I should be able to get enough protein from
meals.(Yeah.....) meanwhile, he still has plenty of hair..(smile)
If you have any ideas in addition to the protein that I am getting ( 72
grams a day) please let me know, ([email protected]) I am open to
anything!!!

How are your labs? If you haven't been having them run regularly, this
would be a sign to do so. It'll either help pinpoint the protein
deficiency (a likely culprit, but nothing's for sure without
investigation), or at least eliminate it and help the docs determine if
it's a thyroid deficiency or some other issue.

I agree with the last poster............make sure it isn't your thyroid. I
can always tell when my thyroid medication is out of balance when I start
to notice hair loss. Also, I take a double dose of biotin because I've read
and heard that it is the hair and nail vitamin. I can definitely tell a
difference in my nails (never had them before now they look like artificial
nails!) and my hair is thicker than it has ever been in my entire life. I
also use the Nioxin products.

I think that loseing your hair after a major surgery is normal because when
i had my c section i found to have lost some hair but grew it back. i have
a sister who whenunder a major surgery and the samething as me. But you
should go to a solon and ask them for some thing I know my sister did and
they gave her some thing for it.
