Question:
I HATE BCBS of Kansas!! Need help with letter to them.
I called my insurance company BCBS of Kansas and they have told me that I have an exclusion in my policy and that they do not pay for weight loss surgery. I have nothing to lose so I would like to send a letter to them to try to get coverage. I have no idea where to start. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks. — Cassidy D. Sweetie, I do not know what to tell you. I hate to be the bearer of bad
news but I do not think that you have a leg to stand on if there is an iron
clad exclusion to the policy. Why don't you see what Walter Lindstrom can
do for you. Christine

I have blue cross blue shield of GA, and they are pretty much every where,
there is no exclusion clause in ga, theyare paying for the wls left and
right here in georgia, but they don't want to cover the reconstructive
removal of redundant skin, they find every way in the world to call it
cosmetic surgery. I would ask to see the exclusion in writing and the book
that it is in. Good Luck, and do not give up don't let them win.

It is not necessarily BCBS, but the policy your employer chose to take out.
BCBS paid for my WLS no questions asked, and paid for a panniculectomy,
Only asking to see photos of the excess skin. (the rest of the LBL and arm
lift was out of my pocket)
