Question:
Not Pleasant! What to do for gas that does not respond to anything ...
I'm 2-1/2 years out. Very pleased with weight loss that has been stable for almost a year. I have gurgling and rumbling immediately after eating. I still observe the rules and basically avoid gas-producing foods - but without success. I've tried Beano, Gas-X, Phazyme, etc. Any ideas? — ZaZa F. (posted on September 19, 2004)

Many here have had great luck with chlorophyll productions like Innermint.
Others have tried Devrom, which is a bismuth product.

ZAZA if after trying Innermint you still have the problem,it may be time to
get scoped.
You may have something else going on.

Wondering what you consider "gas-producing" foods, since as a
post-op, they are different for everyone. For some like me, any sugar
alcohol-heavy products are worse than any bean burrito could be.

Do you eat sugar or alot of refined carbs? I have trouble with stinky gas
if I overindulge in those foods, although I wouldn't normally consider them
"gas producing" for a normie.

Are you using Benefiber? I got terrible gas from that..once I discontinued
it, I'm quiet again. Or at least as quiet as I was before WLS. I switched
to Citracel and all is well again. I did try Devrom and that doesn't make
the gas go away but it does take away some of the stink.
Good Luck!

I tried Benefiber and it did lessen the gas, but I recently tried the new
Benefiber chewable tablets and they seemed to be a bit more effective. Not
a total solution for me, but it does lessen the gas.

I used to suffer from very bad gas pains daily, Mylanta Extra Strength
chewable tablets in the green bottle worked wonders for me. I hope it will
do the same for you.
