Question:
Dr. Skogerson, Carson CIty Nev. Does anyone really know whats going on?
I just got a letter telling me he will no longer be in practice. I'm kinda freaked out, not that I have had any problems, but "WHAT IF" a couple of years down the road something happens. Would any other surgen take me without having done the original surgery? I am 18 months out, and down 141 lbs. Have been having plastic surgeries, and feeling good. Only problem is Iron, which was a problem to before surgery. Thanks ahead of time for any responce. — Julie H. (posted on August 31, 2004)

I live in Reno and was scheduled to sed Dr. Skogerson for my surgery but
ended up not going because his first appointment was 6 months out. I am a
patient of Dr. Ganser at Western Surgical Group in Reno. I have heard some
things about the Skogerson situation but I don't want to spread it since I
don't know for sure if it's true. I would suggest calling Western Surgical
Group at 775-323-7500 and ask for the bariatric department (they have their
own special program for us). Western Surgical Group has been fantastic and
they answer all of my stupid questions. I don't see why they wouldn't take
you since your surgeon won't. I would just call and ask.
Good Luck!

You can also have your regular doctor take care of you. Take them a copy
of the labs your bariatric surgeon had you do and they can order the same
blood work. They can also prescribe iron for you if needed. I take
Chromogen Forte for iron.
