Yeah, I would like to hear and answer to that one. My 1 year is next week
and I have not lost anything in over 3 months. I still have another 40 lbs
to lose as well. My cousin still loses weight after 3 years though.

I say don't give up. I am a little over 15 months out and still losing.
At 1 year out I was 175 and had a tummy tuck and stayed at about 170. But
today I weigh 153. All of a sudden I am losing again. They said you lose
until you are 18 months. I am ready to stop though as 170 was my goal.
Good luck. 314/153 below goal 5/9/03

This is funny--I was just going to ask this Question except that my
"birthday" was June 9, 2004 and I am 14 mos. out, size 8-10,
160-3 and have plataued since June---will I lose anymore? My doctor thinks
my weight is stable since it goes 163, 164, 166, 162, 160, 163--you get the
picture and that plastic surgery and hernia may cause me to lose another
10-15 when I have it done in December or June. Most of our support group
who have lost are at goal and cannot answer this Question--are we done?
I've tried the digital horsewoman's diet --that didn't break it and that's
never happened. I still have fat to lose--I up the exercise and have all
protein--maybe we are just done.....

I am interested in the digital horsewoman diet that was previously
mentioned. I did a search with no results. I quit losing at 1 year, and
now almost 3 years post-op and up 10 lbs. I still don't eat sugar and I
choose healthy foods, so I think my metabolism is messed up. I am hoping
that some PS will help me lose a few.

I am almost 3 years post-op. I only lost 75lbs during the first year and a
half. I was very depressed as I thought that I was done. Well I started
paying more attention to what I was eating and have lost an additional
75lbs over the past 6 months. Make wise decisions regarding what you put
in your mouth and get in the exercise and the weight will start to drop off
again for you. Don't give up. Good luck to you!

I am also 1 yr. out went from 276 to 179. had my yrly post op visit this
past friday I told him how i felt like a failure cause in the past 6 months
i've only lost about 10lbs. he said. that's because i've only got about 5-6
more lbs. i can lose on my own. the rest has to be surgically removed so we
took my pics. to send in to the ins. co. (i have a HUGE stomach) so I WILL
be having a panniculectomy in a couple of months. he says after surgery i
will weigh about 150LBS. so you may wanna look into that.

In my opinion, it's up to you. I plateaud at a year out for a couple of
months. I then got serious w/ the pouch rules, eliminated ALL foods that
had refined flour or sugar in them, added more exersize, and lost another
15 or 20 pounds to reach goal. Review the "pouch rules for
dummies". They really work (although I don't include fruit as part of
my meals as it causes cravings for me). The South Beach Diet list of foods
in Phase I and II are good as well.

I doubt you are done but you may have to help it along a little by eating a
little better, cutting out some carbs and increasing the exercise. Even
without doing so, it may continue to go down a pound here and there for a
while longer. At about 13 months out I stopped losing and settled in the
low-mid 150's. Then at 1 1/2 years post-op, I moved to a new house and
spent a good week packing and unpacking and lifting boxes. Lost 4 pounds
doing that and kept it off. Then about 4 months ago, I got a stomach bug
and couldn't eat for a week or more and lost 4 more. I have kept 2 of the
4 off. So, it is possible, but usually its either thru a change in
exercise (packing) or diet.
