I believe average is 75? 150 is fine though, you will be able to keep
weight off a little better (with exercise of course).

My bypass was 100cm. My surgeon considers that proximal. I lost 105 lbs.
in my first six months, and 161 altogether. Congrats on the great weight
loss! Hugs, Kim S. Open RNY Nov.4/02, panni Mar.15/04 (-161 lbs.)

I was bypassed approximately 1150, and was told at the time that it was
considered fairly distal. I think that they do even closer to 200 now, at
least my Drs do. I lost 120 in a year, and am below goal according to the
"charts", by arond 10 pounds.

My doctor (Dr. Rodriguez) said he bypassed 100. I lost 105 at 6 months,
and 160 by 11 months. I have maintained that now at 1 year and 7 months
postop.

That's how much I am bypassed (150cm). I had my surgery a little over 3 yrs
ago...I still have to really watch what I eat and exercise regularly to
maintain my weight....which I had a 20 lb rebound a year ago btw...I do
make sure to take all my vities everyday...I feel pretty good and am very
healthy... but I am borderline anemic...and am dealing with hypoglycemia as
a post op...never had any problems with low blood count or my sugar
dropping before surgery. These things may or may not be directly related to
the amt. bypassed... but I suspect they are...I wouldn't trade my bypass
for anything though...
I've been told 150cm is a proximal to medial bypass for what it's
worth....hope this is helpful.
