Question:
Has anyone had a similar problem?
I went to my PCP last fridayand had stool specimen to tes positive for blood. He made me an apointment with my surgeon and I saw her today. She did another stool check and it was the same. I am scheduled to be scoped May 6. I have not been constipated since I had the surgery and I have not visibly seen any blood. Sometimes my stools are darker.Anyone been through this? I am 9 months post op and down 117pounds. Thanks!! — cindylou56 (posted on April 28, 2004)

I had similar experience. I saw primary care dr, she found blood, sent me
to a specialist, she found blood. I was told to do the wonderful home test
and send it in for lab work, then contact specialist again. I spoke to my
nutritionist and she suggested I add some fruit to my diet. I did and
problem was solved. I never did the home test. You really should follow
up. If you don't, you will always wonder what it is. For the
constipation, add some fruit and see if you have enough water and fat in
your diet. Sometimes we try to limit fat content so much that it effects
other functions. I now do everything in moderation. Remember fruit, water
and exercise. It really does help.
