Question:
Can anyone tell me if Great West tends to pay for this surgery?

I have Great West and it was covered with medical necessity....BUT just because someone has Great West doesn't mean it will be covered for them too - it depends on the plan written for that company's coverage. Your friend should be ablet to call the customer service phone number on the ID card and ask if it is covered - that is what I initially did to find out if it was covered. Good Luck. Cherie

Hi I had Great West when I had this surgery Im from Texas so Im not sure if its different from state to state or company to company but I do know there are people getting there approvals with Great West, also a little info I took a like 2 or 3 months before I got my approval after the paper work was sent in and I called them at least twice a week it pays to say on top of things, also if you can get the name of the case worker that helps also that way you can talk to that person instead of a nobody,lol. Each plan is different. Great West writes mostly self funded business. This means it's actually your employer who makes the decision if they want to cover WLS for their company.
