Question:
I am having my arms and a breast lift and implants done next week.

I would like to hear from those who have had the same, either or both. I am so excited but scared at the same time. I only took one week off with my lap RNY and I am curious to know how others did. I am having excessive skin removed from arms, a breast lift and implants because I have nothing but flesh left. I will spend one night in the hospital. I have a desk job but have two young children. Please give me any suggestions or advice. I will greatly appreciate it. Good luck to all who are seeking plastic surgery. I really believe that it will make such a differnce for me. Congratulations for reaching the point on your journey where this is a possibility -- and an upcoming reality!! I am hoping to have all three of those procedures done at the same time, as well. I just began my research (going for consultations, etc.) So, as you can imagine, I don't have any advice to share with you, but I'm sending you thoughts of support, along with wishes for a successful surgery and quick recovery. Please, if you feel like it, email me to let me know how it goes for you. Inquiring minds want to know....

I'm two weeks post-op breast lift (no implant) and brachioplasty. I feel terrific and stopped using pain meds on the day after my surgery. I was at an outpatient surgicenter and came home the same day at 7:30pm. I can't speak to the discomfort when implants are placed under the muscle so hopefully someone else will answer. My PS scolded me yesterday as I started vacuuming and reaching high up in cupboards for dishes, etc. and I should NOT be doing that at this point. I feel SO GOOD and really have to remind myself that I'm even post-op and in recovery mode. I hope you have the same experience. I'm sure you can be back to work in one week. Best of luck~

I had my arms done (modified brachioplasty) and I found this to be much more painful then my tt. I think the main reason is you don't realize how much you use your arms. I could only lift them about 1/2 way up for about the first month. It took approximately 2 months for me to be able to lift them all the way up over my head. I think that is due to the way they sewed them back up and made them tight. Since most of my incisions were in my armpit, this caused me to not be able to lift my arms. I also have a desk job and it didn't effect me in any way. I went back to work after a week off with no problems. The first 4 days after surgery a blur. I was taking my pain pills RELIGIOUSLY every 4 hours. Very unlike me, but I hurt after this surgery. However, everyone is different in how they heal and how there doctor does the surgery.
