Question:
What is going on? tendonitis
For the last couple of months I have not been able to walk because of posterior tibia tendonitis in my left ankle. I was fitted for orthotics and for the last week and a half I have got back in my routine. Weight loss was slower while I was not walking and since I have started back I have gained 2 pounds. I eat like I should protein etc. and drink 100 to 120 ounces of water a day and now I am finally back on track with my walking, then this. What could it be? I am almost 6 months post op and have lost 96 pounds. Thanks — cindylou56 (posted on January 16, 2004)

Hi Cynthia, I have had the same problem for a couple of months now.
Although I did have it before surgery, just never this bad. I stopped
loosing weight also due to crippling foot pain and not bieing able to walk.
My PCP and Surgeon had never seen this before so they sent me to a
reumatologist(sp) who 3 day ago ended my pain!!!! She gave me some
cortizone shots and a steroid shot for the inflamation. It not only fixed
my foot problems but Changed my mood due to the fact that every step is not
a knife wrenching stab in the heel. I have to go back and have my x-rays
checked in three weeks. The Dr. seemed surprised by how much pain and the
exact location of the pain but she did fix it. I wish I could have gotten
in to her office 2 months earlier, but she had a waiting list. I hope this
helps, it did me so much I'm going to send her some flowers on monday with
my highest regards! - Shawn
