If you mean that it is easier to get dressed and to walk than I can tell
you that it is a world of difference. When I was 300# I had to rest just
walking to my mail box. When I tried to go shopping I went from the car to
the nearest bench to catch my breath. Then I went from bench to bench in
the mall. As for getting dressed, now I love to wear jeans and skirts where
before it was sweat pants and spandex and shirts that would fit a football
player with pads.

Yes, If you are talking about how things are easier, I remember 2 years ago
we went to Disney World in Florida- Everyone was SOOOOOOOO excited- they
enjoyed the rides, the shows etc...What did I do ? Well I spent my days,
woddling from BENCH to BENCH- While everyone elses eyes were set on all
the "magic" around us. My eyes were scanning the park for the
next bench (or the next place with food) When I finally got up enough
energy to wait in line for a rollercoaster (always loved those things) I
DID NOT FIT IN THE SEAT, AND HAD TO GET OFF THE RIDE INFRONT OF EVERYONE-
When I was pre-op I said- I'm not having this surgery to get THIN, I don't
need to wear a size 2....I just want to be MOBILE :) Best wishes Kim

Not only do you get dressed more easily, but the size of the clothes are
amazing! I went from a very tight 24, now, just 5 1/2 months post op, I am
wearing a 12!! Last night, my husband and I went to the store, I went
right to the plus size dept...my husband started to laugh at me and
reminded me that nothing in this section will fit me anymore - WoW! That
was so wonderful! I bought a cute, "little" outfit that only a
short time ago, would have only been a dream!

I used to try to go upstairs and grab something from the house only once.
Even if it meant carrying ten things down. Now I'll just go up and down
like it's no big deal. I never associated that with my weight but it
definitely was. I also just need to move more now. All the time. Even my
arms feel like they need to exercise!

This has been one of the greatest things for me! Just an example, where I
work there is a lot of places to walk downtown at lunch, post office,
shopping, etc. I used to dread and avoid if possible having to walk
anywhere. You can't drive because it's too congested, so I would avoid
going anywhere. Well, the other day I needed to go to the bank and didn't
want to lose my good parking space, so I just started walking and made it
there and back in 40 minutes. When I left work that night, I drove my path
so I could see how far I walked, and it was 1.25 miles!!!!!!!! I was so
excited that I was able to walk that far and actually enjoy it! Open RNY

I love wearing clothes that are too big or just loose enough to be
comfortable. I don't think I ever did that before!!!

Hi Kathy, first of all Merry Christmas to you, and everyone on this
wonderful board. I will never forget the day I bought a pair of jeans and
zipped them up over a flat tummy. My whole life I wore pull up pants with
alot of give, and to actually buy jeans and wear them was the highlight of
my wls. I just went out and bought 2 more pairs size 10 just because. I
wore 24-26 or 3x-4x a little over 2 years ago and never want to go back. It
is so wonderful to have energy to work all day, and be able to keep up with
grandkids (11) of them plus more on the way ages 22 on down. This surgery
was not only a lifesaver for me, had bad knees, reflux terrible, small
heart attack, and just aches, and pains all over that made life difficult.
I am so thankful everyday I get up, and sometimes don't reconize myself
when I look in the mirror, God Bless each and everyone of you this
wonderful time of the year, and a Happy New Year to all, Susie

I have experienced two wonderful things since I started losing weight. 1.
I love going clothes shopping. Not just at department stores but my
favorite place is thrift stores. Today I got a great sweater for 2.00.
The second thing is realizing that my thighs are not having to meet and
greet each other as much. I was doing some back leg lifts a couple of days
ago and it occured to me that skin wasn't meeting skin. Cool feeling!!!
Enjoy the changes. They can be exciting and scary too. Just love the
ride!!
